As of today, 7 September, Gabriela Scutea is joining the EU High Level Advisers’ Mission team in the Republic of Moldova, in the position of EU HLA on Justice & Prosecution.
Gabriela Scutea is the former Prosecutor General of Romania, having served in this position since February 2020 until February 2023. She has previously held top positions in the Romanian Ministry of Justice (State Secretary) and Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Minister Counsellor – High Representative of the Ministry of Justice in the Relations with EU), as well as high level managerial positions in the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the High Court of Cassation and Justice.
Ms Scutea will provide policy advice to the Ministry of Justice and the Prosecutor General’s Office.
With the new EU HLA on Justice & Prosecution, the number of Advisers currently serving in the Republic of Moldova reached 11: in the fields of Reforms Coordination, Diplomatic & EU Affairs, Internal Security Affairs, Strategic Coordination & European Affairs, Environment & Green Transition, Local Public Administration Reform, Education & Research, Anticorruption, Energy, Customs & Tax Policy. The current Mission started in January 2023 and will last until January 2025.
