A new EU High Level Adviser, on Strategic Coordination and European Affairs, joined the team of the Mission to the Republic of Moldova, thus increasing the total number of currently working Advisers to eleven.

Hans Martin Sieg has started recently his assignment within the Presidential Administration. Before joining the Mission, Mr Sieg, had previously held senior managerial/Team Leader positions in development projects and think tanks, as well as top Advisory positions for the Governments of Germany, Switzerland and the Republic of Moldova. Hans Martin has worked for institutions like GIZ, UNDP, OSCE; his most recent position was that of a Director of the country offices in Romania and the Republic of Moldova of the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung. Mr Sieg holds a PhD in Political Science and one in History.

Mr Sieg will advise the President on strategic coordination and implementation of reform priorities, in particular on policies related to good governance and commitments in the context of the Association Agreement and Agenda with the European Union, as well as promote international partnerships. He will also provide advice on European affairs and relations with the EU and its Member States.

In addition to the field of Strategic Coordination and European Affairs, the EU High Level Advisers cover the fields of Anti-Money Laundering and Asset Recovery, Anticorruption, Confidence Building Measures, Customs and Tax Policy (Domestic Revenue Mobilisation), Education and Research, Energy, Financial Services, Green Transition, Justice and Prosecution, Local Public Administration Reform, including Decentralization and Voluntary Amalgamation.
