Ambassador of the European Union to Moldova Pirkka Tapiola, Prime-Minister Pavel Filip and the team of EU High-Level Advisers held a meeting on 24 March, to discuss the situation of public administration sector and the stage of reform implementation.
In this respect, Ambassador Tapiola mentioned that “the reform of the ministries is a policy of the Government of the Republic of Moldova we welcome. Nonetheless, it is entirely up to the coalition to define the guidelines. The EU is willing to support Public Administration Reform with focus on efficient structures that deliver quality services to citizens.”
In his turn, Prime-Minister Filip mentioned the importance of knowledge transfer, experience and advice in the reform process and encouraged the EU High-Level Advisers to introduce a new philosophy in the ministries they operate, based on the best European practices.
Each of the 22 High-Level Advisers currently working in the country made an overview of the state of play in their respective sectors, covering almost all essential areas of the EU – RM Association Agreement, from free trade, customs and energy to education, environment and rural development.
