In order to provide a broader understanding of the changes and provisions related to tax and customs administration, the Ministry of Finance, jointly with the European Union High Level Advisers’ Mission, the State Tax Service, the Customs Service and the “Monitorul Fiscal FISC.md” periodical publication organized on 3 December 2024, the third information session of the awareness-raising campaign dedicated to the 2025 budgetary-tax and customs policy: interpretation, application mechanisms and procedures. The main topics discussed during the event concerned the income tax, local taxes and the Customs Code.

The opening session, moderated by Director of “Monitorul Fiscal FISC.md” publication, Rodica Musteata-Staci, was attended by the Minister of Finance, Victoria Belous, the EU High Level Adviser on Customs and Tax Policy, Rosario De Blasio, Director of the State Tax Service Olga Golban and the Director of the Customs Service, Alexandru Iacub, the officials emphasizing the importance of transparency and proper information of taxpayers regarding legislative changes.

The event took place in a hybrid format, bringing together over 900 participants, and was structured in two different sessions. Thus, the first session, held by representatives of the Ministry of Finance and the State Tax Service, addressed topics related to income tax and local taxes. The speakers explained the main legislative changes and presented the novelties and peculiarities of the budgetary-tax policy for the year 2025. The second session was dedicated to customs aspects, being supported by experts from the Customs Service. Among the topics discussed were: the guarantee of the customs debt, the procedures for the export of goods, the specifications of the new computerized transit system.

The participants appreciated the initiative of the organizers, showing special interest and actively engaging in discussions and debates on the topics covered.

The budgetary-tax and customs policy for 2025 was published in the Official Journal on 15 August 2024, being developed by the Ministry of Finance with the support of the European Union High Level Advisers’ Mission, and subjected to an extensive public consultation process with representatives of the business environment, trade associations, as well as central and local public authorities.

The information campaign launched by the Ministry of Finance, in partnership with the European Union High Level Advisers’ Mission, included three practical sessions, aiming to support taxpayers in adapting to the new legislative provisions and to ensure the correct application of the budgetary-tax and customs policy.
