The EU High Level Adviser on Anti-Money Laundering and Asset Recovery and Management, Žydrūnas Bartkus, was awarded the medal “For Cooperation” by Moldova’s National Anti-Corruption Center (NAC). Since January 2024, the EU High Level Adviser has been working in Moldova, closely collaborating with local competent authorities, including the Criminal Asset Recovery Agency (CARA), which is a structural specialised unit of the NAC. When presenting the award, NAC Director Alexandr Pinzari expressed his gratitude to the EU High Level Adviser for his support and expertise in strengthening Moldova’s asset recovery system, as well as for fostering the long-term collaboration between Moldova’s NAC and the Lithuanian anti-corruption authority, the Special Investigation Service, which Mr. Bartkus had led before his appointment to Moldova.
