Today, 23 April, over 160 students from all the faculties of the State University of Moldova took part in the awareness raising event of the Internship Programme: they found out about the two available programmes of internships in state institutions – one financed by the European Union and one by the national budget –, as well as listened to the inspiring career stories of EU and Moldovan officials.

The Rector of the State University of Moldova, Igor Sarov, opened the event encouraging the young people to benefit from the useful opportunities of internships. Deputy Prime minister, Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization Dumitru Alaiba, Programme manager of the EU Delegation to Moldova Josip Juric, as well as the former Prosecutor General of Romania, EU High Level Adviser on Justice and Prosecution Gabriela Scutea, shared their career experiences motivating the youth to chose a career in the national administration. The event was moderated by Irina Cruceru, Programme Manager of the EU High Level Advisers’ Mission in the EU Delegation.

Students, master students and young graduates have the possibility to become interns in the two similar programmes: a joint one of the European Union and the Government of the Republic of Moldova (with a duration of two months in the summer time); and the one financed from the national budget (with a duration of three months). Detailed information about the programmes is available at www.eu-advisers.md/intersnhip and www.stagii.gov.md.

Applications to the joint Programme will include a CV and cover letter, submitted to stagii@eu-advisers.md by 15 May.

Previous information events of the Programme took place in the Academy of Economic Studies, the Balti State University ‘Alecu Russo’ and the Cahul State University ‘B.P.Hasdeu’. The last information event, for students from diaspora or those who did not manage to attend the events in person, will take place tomorrow, 24 April, online at https://www.facebook.com/events/1410324599612585.

The Internship Programme edition this year is launched in the context of the European Year of Skills.
