Moldovan and Romanian Customs authorities will intensify cross-border cooperation, as a result of efforts to ensure joint and coordinated mechanisms in the customs clearance process. Additionally, the current bi-lateral cooperation plan was updated and signed by Directors of both institutions.

The new Concept on joint mechanisms in the process of customs clearance at the border crossing points has been developed with the support of the EU High Level Adviser on Customs and Tax Policy, Rosario De Blasio. With the concept at the basis, during their meeting with Romanian counterparts, the Customs Service of the Republic of Moldova reiterated their commitment to join efforts in order to intensify cooperation with Romanian counterparts during customs clearance, which will facilitate trade, streamline traffic, as well as secure the border.
