The young people taking part in the Internship Programme in state institutions had the chance to find out, from first source, about the current status of EU – Moldova relations and the commitments, challenges and perspectives our country has in its EU accession path.

The interns gathered today, 15 August, for yet another informative session, hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, to be familiarized by the State Secretary Stela Leuca on the details of EU integration. During the session, they engaged in lively discussions with the official, being able to find out the peculiarities of this complex process.

Irina Cruceru, the Programme Manager of EU High Level Advisers Mission in the European Union Delegation, shared her professional experience with EU integration and acquis alignment, and encouraged the interns to use the unique opportunities, offered by the historically very important period Moldova is crossing, to its fullest.

In the second part of the session, interns discussed with Jan Tombinski, EU High Level Adviser on Diplomatic & EU Affairs, on the purpose of diplomacy as profession.

During their internship, the young people are being familiarized with various sectors of the public administration, in order to get a full picture of the functioning of state institutions and the various perspectives it offers in terms of career.

The joint EU – Government of the Republic of Moldova Internship Programme is offering 30 young people the chance to work in state institutions for two months, thus consolidating their skills and increasing the chances for future employment in the public administration. Interns receive a monthly allowance; the Programme being funded by the European Union.
