A new EU High Level Adviser, Rolandas Taraskevicius, joined, as of 1 December, the EU HLA Mission in Moldova, taking over the Agri-Food Sector Development field. The EU HLA will provide strategic support to the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry and its subordinated agencies on the implementation of the EU-Moldova Association Agreement and on policy and legislative approximation in his sector of expertise, as well as support progress towards the EU’s Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) and the European Green Deal and the Farm to Fork Strategy.

Mr Taraskevicius has held top managerial positions in the Lithuanian Ministry of Agriculture, including as Chief Adviser to the Minister, and Deputy Minister of Agriculture.

With the new member of the team, the HLA Mission reached the number of 14, in the fields of: Anticorruption, Reforms Coordination, Diplomatic and European Affairs, Internal Security Affairs, Strategic Coordination & European Affairs, Environment and Green Transition, Local Public Administration Reform, Education & Research, Energy, Customs and Tax Policy, Justice and Prosecution Services, Public Finance Management, Financial Services. The current Mission started in January 2023 and will last until January 2025.
