Prime Minister Pavel Filip, Ambassador of the European Union to the Republic of Moldova Peter Michalko and EU High Level Advisers held a meeting today, 2 November, in order to take stock of the reforms implementation in the framework of the Association Agenda, and also to identify major challenges and optimal solutions to overcome them.
In the beginning of the meeting, Prime Minister welcomed the intensified institutional dialogue with the European Union, especially before the Eastern Partnership Summit of 24 November. The official stated that the major objective of the Cabinet of Ministers is to ensure the implementation of reforms agenda with the aim of state institutions consolidation enabling good quality public services rendered to citizens, an objective for which the experience and advice of the EU High Level Advisers team are vital.
During the discussions, EU Ambassador to the Republic of Moldova Peter Michalko highlighted that the High Level Advisers are there to support the authorities in implementing the Association Agenda and the necessary reforms.
In their turn, the EU High Level Advisers took stock the progresses achieved in their intervention sectors, but also signalled the existing challenges, proposing solutions for their remediation.
The EU High Level Advisers’ Mission, a project financed by the European Union, is a team currently consisting of 21 experts deployed in the Republic of Moldova with the overall objective to support the Government of the Republic of Moldova to implement its reform Agenda, in particular, to assist in developing the capacities required for the implementation of the Association Agreement, including the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area, as well as to ensure the necessary follow-up for the post – visa liberalisation stage.
